A New Year, Seen One Time Zone at a Time
I love watching the world welcome the New Year — one time zone at a time.
There’s something grounding about it. Before the noise. Before the resolutions. Before the rush to move forward.

It begins in Australia, with fireworks bursting over the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge — light dancing across the harbor as a new year officially arrives.
In Hong Kong, the skyline comes alive as fireworks reflect across Victoria Harbour, skyscrapers glowing in synchronized celebration, the city pulsing with energy and anticipation.
In London, church bells ring as the clock strikes midnight, fireworks illuminating the Thames near Big Ben and London Bridge — centuries of history meeting a brand-new moment.

Then comes New York City, where the world seems to hold its breath for the Times Square Ball Drop, counting down together beneath the lights, surrounded by motion, music, and collective hope.
And finally — home.

Different cities. Different traditions. Different ways of marking the moment.
Yet everywhere, the feeling is the same: reflection, hope, and the promise of something new.
As we prepare for 2026, I find myself thinking about a different kind of countdown — one shaped not by seconds on a clock, but by the adventures we’ve had, the experiences we’ve shared, and the memories created along the way.
10…
For the trips we dreamed about — the spark of possibility.
9…
For the plans that finally became real.
8…
For the moments that surprised us — the ones we didn’t plan at all.
7…
For the places that reminded us who we are when we step outside our routine.
6…
For the people we traveled with — and the connections we made along the way.
5…
For the courage it takes to say yes to something new.
4…
For the lessons learned — sometimes mid-journey, sometimes only in hindsight.
3…
For the memories that stay with us far longer than souvenirs.
2…
For the gratitude we carry forward.
1…
For the year ahead — full of possibility, perspective, and promise.

Happy New Year.
May the next chapter bring meaningful journeys, unforgettable experiences, and time well spent.
Because in the end, it’s not about how many places we go —
it’s about how deeply we experience the moments that matter.
