We chose to hire a personal driver for a full-day, six-hour tour — and it was the best decision we could have made. Instead of gripping the wheel on narrow roads and bracing for hairpin turns, we were free to lean back, breathe in the sea air, and let the coastline unfold like a living postcard.

• Positano: Cliffside glamour at its finest. We stopped at Salvatore’s famous fruit stand just outside town for fresh orange juice and local charm.
• Il San Pietro: An Amalfi icon — one of the coast’s most luxurious hotels, perched dramatically on the cliffs and perfect for soaking in the views.
• Fiordo di Furore: The dramatic fjord and arched bridge — one of the most photographed spots on the coast.
• Praiano: A lovely town — quieter, stylish, with hidden corners and unforgettable sunsets.
• Borgo Santandrea: We toured this breathtaking 5-star property. From terraced gardens to its private beach and Michelin-star dining, it’s a masterpiece of luxury.
• Amalfi: The bustling heart of the coast. Crowded, yes, but absolutely worth it to step inside the breathtaking Duomo di Sant’Andrea, then cool off with a frozen lemon treat in the piazza.
• Atrani: A peaceful fishing village just steps from Amalfi, with winding alleys and timeless trattorias.
• Ravello: Refined and aristocratic, perched high above the sea. We lingered over lunch at the Garden Restaurant, browsed chic shops (including Versace), wandered Villa Rufolo, and brought home hand-painted ceramics as keepsakes.
• Minori & Maiori: Authentic and flavorful. Maiori boasts the coast’s longest beach, while Minori tempts with Sal De Riso pastries and Roman villa ruins. Walking the Sentiero dei Limoni between them is pure joy.
